Want to take a glance at some of the most luxurious villas and hotels on Como Lake? Hit Cernobbio pier, a few steps away from our holiday apartments and take a boat trip up to Bellagio, at the very heart of the lake. You can stop in Tremezzo, and visit the stunning Villa Carlotta with its gorgeous gardens (a must, if you are travelling in spring, during the blooming of azaleas). In Bellagio, you can visit the picturesque village, which has kept spots of its old Liberty mood, and displays intriguing shops for a souvenir of the lake. There you can enjoy a lunch with typical lake produce, as well as a stroll along the vibrant gardens of Villa Melzi.
On your way back, you can stop for a refreshing plunge at the Lido di Cernobbio, where our guests enjoy a special discount price, and have dinner in one of the restaurants nearby.
If you prefer to use your car, you can reach Lenno, and visit the Villa Balbianello, which stands on a promontory stretching toward the centre of the lake, then move to Tremezzo to visit Villa Carlotta. Less than a kilometre away, you can board a ferry and reach Bellagio. From there, you can head south on the coastal route towards Como, and stop at the Lido di Blevio, where the sun sets late enough for you to enjoy a sunset dip.
… or a visit to Como
Como is just 4 km away from La Corte di Zizi and La Corte di Cernobbio, so if you wish to spend your day in Como, you can enjoy a walk, starting from a visit to Villa Bernasconi in Cernobbio, a Liberty style jewel. You can then step into the “Chiometro della Conscenza”, a scenic path stretching from Villa Sucota, Villa del Grumello and Villa Olmo, where you can visit the impressive gardens.
When in Como, you can choose for a tour of the main churches, starting from the Cathedral, which has a three and a half centuries building history to tell, in tight connection with the Broletto, the old municipal building. You can then continue your walk in the old town, and reach San Fedele, the Santuario del Crocefisso, Sant’Abbondio, San Carpoforo…
Or, if you are fond of modern architecture, you will certainly enjoy some of the masterpieces of Rationalism, starting from the rationalist quarter, between Viale Puecher and Viale Sinigaglia, where you can find a number of buildings designed by Giuseppe Terragni, to the “Casa del Fascio”, which is probably the most remarkable piece in Como.
While going around, you will certainly appreciate a lunch in one of the many restaurants downtown, and in the afternoon you can take the funicular to Brunate, for a glance to Como and its lake from the top. You can go further to San Maurizio Lighthouse on foot or by a small shuttle bus. From there you can take a look down the first basin of the lake, as well as at Milan skyline on a clear day.
If you still have energies after such a full day, we suggest a stop at the Lido di Cernobbio, where our guests enjoy a special discount price, and have dinner in one of the restaurants nearby.
